Matthew hails from Bathurst NSW and is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (FAICD). He studied at Charles Sturt University in Western NSW, graduating with a Bachelor of Business degree in 2003 and a Graduate Certificate in Commerce in 2014.
Matthew’s areas of interest and expertise include strategy, risk management, road safety, professional ethics, and industrial relations. He combines an extensive background in corporate governance and business leadership with a demonstrated commitment to furthering the interests of regional and remote communities across NSW.
A recipient of various awards and honours, Matthew was named Bathurst’s most outstanding business leader for 2017/2018, and shortlisted as a Finalist in the same category at the 2018 Western NSW Business Awards. In 2022, Matthew’s 20-year contribution to the Rotary Youth Driver Awareness (RYDA) program was recognised by Rotary International and Road Safety Education (Australia & NZ), and 2023 saw Matthew inducted as a Bathurst Living Legend.
Matthew is married to Jessica with whom he shares three daughters.
